- Stress and burnout
- Life transitions
- Chronic illness and health challenges
- Caregiver stress and burnout
- Grief and loss

What happens during the first session?
The first session focuses on understanding your concerns, discussing your goals, reviewing relevant history, and exploring how therapy may support your needs.
It is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and determine whether we are a good fit.
How long are therapy sessions?
Standard therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes in length. This allows time to explore your concerns, develop coping strategies, and work toward your therapy goals.
How often will we meet?
The frequency of therapy depends on your goals and needs. Many clients begin with weekly or biweekly sessions and adjust over time as therapy progresses.
What therapeutic approaches do you use?
My approach is informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and incorporates evidence-based strategies such as:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Mindfulness-based techniques
- Stress-management strategies
- Relaxation and grounding skills
- Psychoeducation
- Strength-based approaches
Therapy is always tailored to your individual needs, goals, and circumstances.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is maintained in accordance with professional standards and applicable legislation. There are limited exceptions related to safety concerns, risk of harm, child protection obligations, or court orders.
Is Psychotherapy covered by insurance?
Many extended health benefit plans provide coverage for services provided by Registered Nurses. Coverage varies by provider and plan. Please check directly with your insurance company regarding your specific benefits.
Do I need a referral?
No. A referral is not required to book psychotherapy services.
What if I am unsure whether therapy is right for me?
A complimentary 15-minute consultation is available to discuss your concerns, answer questions, and determine whether therapy may be a good fit for your needs.
What should I do to prepare for a virtual session?
Choose a private, comfortable space where you are unlikely to be interrupted. A stable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone are recommended for the best experience.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice and missed appointments may be charged the full session fee.
How do I know if we are a good fit?
A strong therapeutic relationship is important. During the consultation and early sessions, we will explore your goals, discuss expectations, and determine whether my approach aligns with your needs.
