Frequently asked customer questions

Starting therapy can bring many questions. Our FAQs provide helpful information about the process, approach, and what you can expect when beginning your journey with LifeAlteringTherapy.

Yes. I provide secure virtual therapy for adults across Ontario, including Northern Ontario. Virtual therapy allows you to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

Research shows that virtual therapy can be effective for many concerns, including anxiety, stress, burnout, life transitions, grief, and emotional well-being.

I work with adults (18+) experiencing a range of concerns, including:

  • Anxiety and worry
  • Stress and burnout
  • Life transitions
  • Chronic illness and health challenges
  • Caregiver stress and burnout
  • Grief and loss
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Self-esteem and confidence concerns
  • Phobias and specific fears

The first session focuses on understanding your concerns, discussing your goals, reviewing relevant history, and exploring how therapy may support your needs.

It is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and determine whether we are a good fit.

Standard therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes in length. This allows time to explore your concerns, develop coping strategies, and work toward your therapy goals.

The frequency of therapy depends on your goals and needs. Many clients begin with weekly or biweekly sessions and adjust over time as therapy progresses.

My approach is informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and incorporates evidence-based strategies such as:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Mindfulness-based techniques
  • Stress-management strategies
  • Relaxation and grounding skills
  • Psychoeducation
  • Strength-based approaches

Therapy is always tailored to your individual needs, goals, and circumstances.
